30 Oct Chapter Meeting Recap, 7PM, Adjourned 810PM

We had an excellent turnout Thursday 30 Oct at 7 PM with over 20 folks attending. Our most recent addition to EAA and our chapter member is Sherri Alexander, daughter of Duane Alexander.

Chapter Sec Paul Batliner detailed future projects, outings, and goals for next year, to include, representation at the next Rosecrans Airshow in 2010, potential trips to MCI approach control and

Kansas City Air Route Traffic Control Center. Trips to Whiteman Air Force Base, Fly-ins/outs, pancake breakfasts, seeking community sponsorships for various Chapter functions were also discussed.

We collected Chapter ideas for events and discussion topics from all members present.

 Chapter officers were introduced:

 Greg Starkel, President

 Darin Sloan, Vice- President

 Paul Batliner, Secretary

 Brooke Haynes, Treasurer

 Wayne Litherland, Webmaster

We are all new to EAA chapter membership and realize we have members who have experience from previous Chapters. You all know what works and doesn't work or how to make things work, so we appreciate all of the input you can offer to help us make this Chapter a fun educational and social organization supporting General Aviation.

After a little 3-ship formation flying just before the meeting, Paul parked his Nanchang CJ-6 Chinese Student Pilot trainer in the hangar at Express Flight and gave a great presentation about its history and flight characteristics. Then we got to crawl on and around it at the end of the meeting. Thanks, Paul.

We would like all of you who have aircraft, projects in the works, or topics of interest to take 10-15 minutes to share your stories with the rest of the group at our meetings.

We also voted on meeting schedule for November and December 2008. A motion was made, seconded and passed by majority to defer the next Chapter meeting to January 29, 2009, due to everyone's typical holiday travel and event plans. Not to mention that Thanksgiving and Christmas fall on the LAST Thursday of each month.

The 2009 EAA Chapter dues of $15 per member were collected and have/or will be place into our Chapter Checking Account at Commerce Bank NA. The cash has been deposited and the checks, payable to "XP Sky Riders" will be deposited upon completion of the Chapter incorporation process, which should be quite soon. I have receipts available for all payments.

Please forward your dues to Greg Starkel, 502 Tanglewood Dr, St Joseph, MO 64506-3348. Make sure your EAA national membership remains current as well.

Blue Skies and a Tailwind to you all.

Greg
